BROKEN WINDOW

Encinal City Hall, Nov 2009

After we got the city hall, we started working on fixing it up.  Tomas built a long counter, we started building rooms inside for offices and we put up window guards.  One guy, who was carrying a 2x4, turned real quick and ran it into one of the windows.   So the window was broke and it was Friday afternoon so we couldn’t get it fixed until Monday. 

When Beto, the Mayor Pro Tem, and I came back the next Monday, he opened the front door and a chicken flew out.  He said, “Ala!” A chicken had gotten in through the broken window and she had laid an egg during the weekend. Beto said, “Oh my gosh, we’ve got chickens in here.  But she left us an egg for breakfast.”
