One of the citizens called to ask me to go over to his house because he was having problems.  I parked in front of his house and walked in with him.  He said, “Let me show you something in the back yard.”  He showed me a stream of water running from the neighbor’s fence running into his yard.  The stream was coming from a little room that the neighbors had for washing clothes.  He said, “That’s the water coming from their washing machine.  They dug a little ditch that comes from that room into his yard.”  He had told them to stop doing that but they wouldn’t.  So he asked if there was anything that I could do.  I said, “I’ll see what I can do.” 

Then I looked at the neighbor’s house and I saw someone looking thru the kitchen window because they had pulled the curtain back a little.  I said a little louder, “Let me see what we can do about this.  We’ll take care of it.”  I got on the car and drove away.  About three days later he called me and told me that they fixed the trench so the water did not run into his yard.  It went thru their yard out to the street.
